Justin Peck Featured on CBS News

Justin Peck, the prolific resident choreographer at New York City Ballet, was recently profiled on CBS news. The piece features performance and rehearsal clips from several of his newest creations: ‘Rōdē,ō: Four Dance Episodes, Belles-Lettres, Heatscape (choreographed for Miami City Ballet) and scenes from the documentary film Ballet 422.

Peck’s ballets have premiered to wide critical and popular acclaim, and it’s clear to see the musical, athletic legacy he lives in as a Balanchine dancer. Peck’s commitment to collaborating with artists in other fields (notably, musician Sufjan Stevens and artist Shepard Fairey) is particularly exciting. His interview with CBS shows an choreographer invested in finding new ways to make his art relevant and exciting, with a keen eye for the history of what came before.
