Estonian National Ballet: The Bustling Baltic Company Reflects a Mix of Cultures

During a performance of Swan Lake, a principal ballerina poses downstage center in an attitude derriere with her arms pressed back, partnered by a male danseur who stands with his left leg in tendu and his right hand around ehr waist. Splitting them on both sides is a corps of women in a shallow V-shape, standing tendu derriere with their arms in a low first arabesque. The women on stage right have their right leg back, those on stage left ahve their left leg back. All the ballerinas wear white tutus, tights and pointe shoes with feathered headpieces. The male danseur wears white tights and a white top.
