Is New York City Still Fertile Ground for Smaller Ballet Companies?

by Barry Kerollis | Nov 13, 2023

In a large studio space, Amy Saunder and Weston Krukow dance a duet. She holds his right hand with her own right hand and does a high développé devant with her right leg, leaning her upper body back and looking up towards the ceiling while reaching her left arm back. Krukow lunges slightly to his left and reaches his left arm out. The dancers gently pull each other so that they can balance. Saunder wears a copper-colored leotard and ballet slippers, while Krukow wears short black shorts and ballet slippers. A group of people sit along the wall in the background and watch.
