Arleen Sugano, renowned ballet coach, dance scientist and movement stylist is the owner/creator of SuganoSystemBallet (www.suganosystem.com,), an approach to ballet that integrates science with the art form. Anatomy, kinesiology and physics are harnessed to improve technique/movement quality, prevent injury and promote longevity of the dancer. Formerly a master teacher at the Joffrey Ballet School in NYC, the school at USA IBC in Jackson, Mississippi, and full-time faculty at the University of North Texas, Miss A (as she is known) has presented her work internationally and nationally, most notably on pirouettes at the International Association of Dance Medicine & Science conference’s plenary session in Birmingham, England. She authored TED-Ed’s video on fouettés and co-authored "Physics and the Art of Dance" with dance physicist, Dr. Kenneth Laws.
