Rarely do we think of a dancer’s daily work as glamorous. Waking up the body, trying to get in tune with our physical selves in class, and then working to the point of exhaustion in rehearsal and performance, day after day…at certain moments, it can feel more like a grind than anything else.

But this video, starring National Ballet of Canada’s Joseph Ian Steinauer, emphasizes the dignity and integrity—and, yes, even the glamour—of that daily grind. Like most dance films, it features beautiful shots of the ballet body in motion, which we’ll never tire of. And it’s set to the Flume Remix of Disclosure’s “You & Me,” which is deliciously catchy.
