Val Caniparoli, aka “Mr. Nutcracker,” on Creating 5 Different Productions of the Holiday Classic

During a performance of the Nutcracker, group of about a dozen children in 19th century costumes face front and dance close together, leaning their bodies to their right with their arms up. Some carry dolls and toys while others carry flags, while a boy in the front holds a red and white drum. They all smile brightly.
