Last week, the Pointe staff got to spend a day with New York City Ballet’s ever-lovable Lauren Lovette and Daniel Ulbricht for an upcoming story we’re working on. It turns out “60 Minutes” reporter Lesley Stahl got the same treat. While putting together her segment for last night’s behind-the-scenes peek at New York City Ballet, Stahl spent some time in the studio with ballet master in chief Peter Martins, who had Lovette and Ulbricht demonstrate a few of the innovations Balanchine introduced to ballet technique. 60 Minutes Overtime has a clip of the private master class, with extra footage that wasn’t aired in last night’s broadcast.
