The Multi-Tasker's Audition

November 28, 2001

It’s that time of year again—audition season! The seemingly endless schedule of cattle calls and company classes can tire out even the most energetic dancer.

This year, Colorado Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Ballet West have teamed up to offer a three-day workshop that doubles as an audition for each of their companies, second companies and summer intensives. Instead of just a one class shot to impress the directors, dancers will get to show off their talents over three days of technique, variations, men’s, pas de deux and choreography classes—all taught by the company directors. The Telluride Director’s Choice Workshop takes place February 4–6 at The Ames Conservatory in Telluride, Colorado. It is open to dancers ages 16 and up and costs $250.
