Trey McIntyre: New Piece, New Grant

November 28, 2001

Trey McIntyre’s Ma Maison, commissioned by the New Orleans Ballet Association and set to jazz music performed live by the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, was a hit when the Trey McIntyre Project premiered it in 2008. This February the idiosyncratic choreographer will return to the Big Easy to create a companion piece to Maison, again collaborating with the PHJB. McIntyre is on the up-and-up: Not only has his Boise-based company been earning raves all over the country, but he was also recently awarded a prestigious $50,000 fellowship by United States Artists, an advocacy organization for American artists of all genres.
