Onstage

Xuan Cheng and Bria Simcoe rehearse a scene from the ballet La Sylphide in a large dance studio with large windows. Cheng, in a long white tutu, lunges in front of Simcoe with her right foot in tendu derriere and wraps a plaid tartan shawl around her shoulders. She looks over her right shoulder and up at Simcoe coyly as he stands behind her. He wears a white T-shirt, gray sweatpants and black socks and ballet slippers, and looks at Cheng intently. Towards the back of the studio, a large group of dancers in practice clothes stand and watch them rehearse.
