CORPS Conference in Paris

November 28, 2001

The level of ballet training offered at the college level seems to be rising every year. Just take a look through the programs in our
higher education guide
, and you’ll find dozens of schools with quality classical programs.

One organization dedicated to this cause is CORPS
de Ballet International, Inc. As a support network for the community of college ballet teachers, CORPS de Ballet fosters pedagogical excellence, promotes the recognition of ballet’s contributions to society and supports research in the field. The council will hold its 15th annual Teacher Conference in Paris next June. With the theme “From Ballet‘s Origins to 21st Century Innovations,” the event will feature a talk from Paris Opéra Ballet director Brigitte Lefevre, a group tour of the Versailles theatre, master classes, choreographic showings and member presentations. CORPS de Ballet is currently accepting abstracts for prospective conference presentations (the deadline for submission is October 15). Visit corpsdeballet.org for more.
