Harnessing Halloween: Ballet Companies Are Using Classic Scary Stories to Attract Audiences

by April Deocariza | Oct 25, 2022

Jennifer Grace, in a long white dress stained with fake blood, dances onstage in front of a dark gated garden setting. She has darkened eye makeup, messy hair and fake bloodstains on her face and hands as she sneers at the audience, mouth wide open as if to lick the blood off of her hands. Two pairs of dancers, one male and one female per pair, dressed in darker colors mimic her movement and are also covered in fake bloodstains.
