Improvise and Survive: Making the Most of Onstage Bloopers and Mishaps

by Hannah Chang Foster | May 24, 2023

Hitomi Nakamura dances center stage during a ballet performance of Moulin Rouge. She wears a purple can-can dress and poses on pointe with her left leg in a turned in passé. She holds her skirt up, exposing her legs, and gives the audience a cheeky smile. Behind her, other women in colorful can-can dresses kneel on the ground and hold up their skirts, while men in tuxedos and top hats stand in a line behind them. In the background is a large windmill set covered in neon lights.
