Join Us for Pointe Live! Classes and Conversations on Saturday, July 22

July 19, 2023

Summer is the perfect time to expand your horizons, which is why we are thrilled to invite you to Pointe Live! Classes and Conversations on Saturday, July 22, at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center in New York City! For those of you who can’t make it to the Big Apple, we now have a virtual option.

This half-day event will start with 90-minute master classes from two renowned ballerinas: international guest artist and former American Ballet Theatre principal Sarah Lane and Alonzo King LINES dancer Adji Cissoko. It’s a rare opportunity to glean their expertise from the worlds of classical and contemporary ballet. After a break for lunch, we’ll host a one-hour panel discussion with Lane, Cissoko, Complexions Contemporary Ballet dancer Candy Tong, and Miami City Ballet soloist Cameron Catazaro on starting a ballet career, moderated by Pointe editor in chief Amy Brandt. There will be time for a Q&A at the end of the discussion. We can’t wait to see you there!

Cameron Catazaro and Nina Fernandes perform as Romeo and Juliet onstage, smiling joyously. Catazaro stands in a fourth position croisé closely behind Fernandes as she lunges in a tendu derriere. Both dancers open their amrs wide, with the backs of Fernandes' wrists touching Catazaro's arms. She wears a peach, empire waisted dress and pointe shoes, while he wears a white top with billowy long sleeves, off white tights and brown, calf-length boots.
