A New Docuseries Stars the Paris Opéra Junior Ballet

It’s official: The Paris Opéra Ballet’s Junior Ballet is starring in a new docuseries! “Junior Ballet—Rêver, Danser, Ensemble” (“Dream, Dance, Together”) will feature dancers from POB’s newly formed junior company. The four-part series, directed by Anne-Solen Douget, takes a peek behind the curtain to show the dancers’ successes, struggles, and daily lives. Each episode is about 20 minutes; the first two installments will premiere in November, and the final two in December. Viewers can watch the series by subscribing to the company’s official streaming platform, Paris Opera Play.

The Junior Ballet, which was formed in June 2024, now includes 24 dancers (12 women and 12 men) ages 17–23, from around the world. The artists receive paid contracts and perform alongside the main POB company for two consecutive seasons. Each episode of “Dreaming, Dancing, Together” focuses on a period from the 2024–25 season, from selections in July 2024 to training, rigorous rehearsals, performing in Rudolf Nureyev’s The Sleeping Beauty, and the Junior Ballet’s highly anticipated European tour last summer.
