A PAB Promotion
November 28, 2001
Perhaps you remember Pennsylvania Ballet’s Alexander Peters from his Pointe magazine profile in our April/May 2013 issue. Or maybe you know him as one of your favorite corps de ballet dancers—and one of our readers’ choice nominees for corps members who deserve to be promoted right away. It looks like Roy Kaiser, PA Ballet’s artistic director, agrees with you. Peters has been promoted to soloist for the 2014-2015 season.
A Princess Grace award winner, Peters has had a remarkable career so far, originating the title role in William Whitener’s Tom Sawyer during his first and only year at Kansas City Ballet. After KCB, Peters was quickly hired as an apprentice at PA Ballet. While still an apprentice, he danced the title role in Trey McIntyre’s Peter Pan, which earned him a spot in the PAB corps.
Since then, he’s originated a role in Matthew Neenan’s Beside Them, they dwell and has danced a variety of lead roles in PAB’s repertoire. Catch Peters at the Vail International Dance Festival, when PAB performs July 27-30, and see this golden boy in action.
