Celebrate World Ballet Day’s 10th Anniversary on November 1!

October 24, 2023

It’s a big year for ballet lovers. On Wednesday, November 1, get ready to celebrate the 10th anniversary of World Ballet Day!

For the past decade, the annual event has given viewers an inside look at classes, rehearsals, and performance previews through livestreams from companies across the globe. This year’s celebration, hosted by The Royal Ballet, The Australian Ballet, and San Francisco Ballet, is promised to be bigger than ever, featuring over 60 companies.

Viewers can consult a schedule of events and tune in for free via the WBD website and participating companies’ social media platforms. The Australian Ballet will kick off the 24-hour livestream at 10:30 am AEDT. (In North America, that’s 7:30 pm EDT/4:30 am PDT on October 31). This year, WBD invites dancers to submit videos of their best pirouette on social media using the hashtag #WorldBalletDay; a selection of the best clips will be included in The Royal Ballet’s livestream. For more information, head to the WBD Instagram page.

Wherever you are, we can’t wait to celebrate ballet with you. Happy 10th birthday, World Ballet Day!
